Sex toy companies around the world are always producing new wands because this type of toy is so popular. But relatively few new wands come out that really excite me. The We-Vibe Wand 2 is definitely one of them.

As you might intuit from the “2” at the end of its name, the Wand 2 is an updated version of We-Vibe’s first wand released in 2019. At the time, I liked it but didn’t love it. Love it – the vibrations are powerful and rumbling, but its intensity is controlled via a joystick-style button that can be difficult to operate, so it doesn’t win a place in my regular wand rotation.

However, the new Wand 2 returns to traditional buttons. It’s also 30 grams lighter and 1.4 inches shorter than the original Wand.

What I like about We-Vibe Wand 2

• Let’s not bury the lede: This is one of the most powerful and rumbling vibrators I’ve ever tried. It makes me cum easily, quickly, and hard, even on low to medium intensity settings because of how loud it rumbles. At its highest setting, the Wand 2 feels stronger than the Fun Factory Vim, but not as rumbley. Its upper setting is more rumble than the Magic Wand Rechargeable’s, though not quite as powerful – I’d say the MWR’s top speed barely exceeds the We-Vibe Wand 2’s power output. Overall, I’m really impressed with the intensity and quality of this wand’s vibrations – and my clitoris couldn’t agree more!
• This vibration has 10 intensity levels and 10 vibration modes; each mode can also be used at any of the 10 intensity levels. This gives you a lot of options.
• The control scheme is easy to use: holding down the plus and minus buttons turns the toy on or off respectively, and can also be used to change the intensity of the vibrations. The left and right arrow buttons are used to cycle through modes (which is great because it means those of us who like steady vibration don’t accidentally get stuck in mode territory). Press and hold the wave button for 2 seconds to turn Smart Mute on or off (more on that later).
• While the potato shape of the Wand 2’s head may seem confusing at first, it’s surprisingly useful. One side of it is rounded, but the other side offers a more precise edge for those who like that thrill (like me!). I often find myself trying different angles when using this toy because the vibrations can feel very different depending on which part of your body the wand head touches.
• Nearly the entire toy is encased in soft, smooth, matte silicone that works well with water-based lube and feels sexy to the touch.
• The curved shape of this wand feels more ergonomic than a straight wand and makes it easier for me to direct the vibrations of this toy into my neck/shoulders/etc. Use for massaging sore muscles.
• This toy is completely waterproof! This is extremely rare for such a powerful wand. I can see this being a great bath companion.
• You can connect this toy to the We-Vibe app and control it that way, even handing over control to a long-distance partner. I don’t tend to use wands this way, but I’m glad the option is there!
• Very quiet! …for a wand. What I mean is: it can be heard from across the room, but probably not through a closed door, which is more than I can say about many wands as powerful as this one.

things i No Like We-Vibe Wand 2

• A weird thing happens around 5th or 6th speed (10th speed), the super rumbly vibration seems to malfunction and suddenly becomes noticeably buzzy without me pressing any other buttons. I have the same problem with the Lelo smart wand, which I find equally uncomfortable as the We-Vibe wand. Now, granted, even the malfunctioning buzzer speed was powerful and rumbling enough to get me off, so once I got over my surprise that the vibrator seemed to be malfunctioning, I kept using it and all was well …but I hope this never happens.
• A lot of vibration is transmitted to the handle of the toy, which can feel a bit annoying on my hands/fingers after a while.
• The toy features We-Vibe’s “Smart Silence” feature, where the toy senses contact with your skin and automatically turns off when you remove it from your body, then turns back on when contact is made again. Some people may like this feature, but I found it a bit glitchy and grumpy, so I turned it off by holding the wave button for 2 seconds.
• I don’t like the look of this wand. It’s a “sad purple” and (the shape is really innovative) the head doesn’t look as sexy or sophisticated as other wands.

final thoughts

If you want sheer power above all else, I would still direct you to buy the Doxy Die Cast (plugs into the wall) or the Magic Wand Rechargeable (plugs in or not), as they both edge the We-Vibe Wand 2 in vibration strength Compared with the We-Vibe Wand 2 in terms of performance – although not by much.

However: The advantages of the We-Vibe Wand 2 are very close Just as powerful as the other behemoths, but rumbling than both – not to mention, much quieter. Unlike the relatively loud Fun Factory Vim, the Wand 2 is completely waterproof. It also has a smooth head that is gentler and easier to clean than Vim’s ridged head.

I have a few minor quibbles with the Wand 2, including a weird mechanical glitch, which doesn’t even stop me from coming (and coming difficult! ) with this toy. I also wish it wasn’t so expensive.

But overall, I think this is an absolutely fantastic wand. It’s powerful, rumbling, easy to use, waterproof, relatively quiet, and lives up to We-Vibe’s reputation as a manufacturer of high-quality vibrators.
