When your wife cries, understand and support her

Yesterday, my wife and I were chatting with our 33-year-old son and he said, “When your wife cries, you should listen to her.Lori said to me,You need to write a post about this”

So, here we are.

Some men are afraid to cry. We won’t cry, or we’ll feel sad after crying. We don’t really understand this, and sometimes we think she might be doing it on purpose to take advantage of us or manipulate us. In fact, crying is a natural function, women are just less inhibited when it comes to shedding tears.

I suggest you view the tears as God’s way of emphasizing what your wife said. It’s a sign that what she said means a lot to her. So listen up. Don’t rush to try to fix the problem, and don’t try to downplay it. Whatever caused your tears, it’s a big deal to your wife.

Yes, her menstrual cycle could be a factor. But she’s not crying because of her period. She’s crying because something is bothering her. She may cry more easily or more because of her current hormones, but the underlying issue is still important to her. If it’s important to her, it should be important to you too!
