DIY BDSM Bodysuit – Learn how to make your own

DIY BDSM Bodysuit - Learn how to make your own

I was looking to buy a straitjacket (sometimes spelled straight) online to use for some of my own BDSM play.

If you have the money, it’s easy to buy something nice, sturdy, or authentic—even leather, which can cost up to $600 (or more). The problem is, I’ve always had a limited budget for sex equipment—and I know there are many people like me.

That’s why I’m quite disappointed with my choice.

I can buy thin clothing made specifically for Halloween, or equally thin clothing made purely for aesthetics or lighter bondage – but that’s about it… and it’s still a little pricey for me.

So for those who feel the same way I do, here is some information and thoughts I have gathered.

First of all, you should know…

First, the good news…

If you don’t pursue “beautiful” things, then real It’s easy and inexpensive.

The bad news is…

If you want something actually inhibition Your partner, You need to have a basic understanding of sewing and sewing machines – Or maybe someone out there knows and is willing to do the job for cheap or free (and won’t judge haha).

A fabric belt of similar material and color works well as a shoulder strap

notes: please remember Fabric TapeAll you need to do is place it between two pieces of fabric and iron it (it becomes a glue substance) – but it won’t resist any significant pulling or pressure. So anything you see with a seam can be fastened this way if you wish.

DIY Bodysuit

First, decide on the material.

DIY BDSM Bodysuit - Learn how to make your own 1722111097 329 DIY BDSM Bodysuit Learn how to make your ownIt could be anything— Leather, cotton, neoprene, wool, cotton canvas, latex ETC.

Each material has its own pros and cons. Leather is very strong, but harder to clean body fluids from, harder to sew, and more expensive. Cotton is cheap, but more likely to tear (if it’s thin). Latex is difficult to work with and also tears easily. Mesh is beautiful, but not very functional and harder to sew.

Personally, I would choose Thicker cotton or cotton canvas (You can buy it from a fabric store or even an art store if you see one on sale.) It strikes a good balance of strength, price, ease of sewing, and breathability (I don’t like fabric that makes me overheat).

Second, determine the style and details.

  • Do you want your arms crossed in front of you or behind you?
  • Would you rather keep your arms pinned to your side?
  • Do you want a crotch strap?
  • Two hip straps?
  • Buckle-style or loop body strap?
  • Do you want a loose fit or a bodycon style?
  • Do you want a high neck or a low neck?
  • Do you want something practical or aesthetic?
  • Do you need an extra loop for a leash or cord?
  • Do you want it to extend into the body bag?
  • How does the back fasten? (straps, zipper, corset, etc.)

Traditional Jackets There’s a low collar (avoiding the neck for safety), arms that cross in front (via straps), a crotch strap, and four straps along the back to adjust the fit.

This is from RX Target Jacket…

But since it’s your party, you can design any If you want, you can make any changes you want.

Shirt with basic jacket

If you want to avoid a lot of trouble…

  • Buy two of the same long-sleeved shirts
  • Cut off the collar and cuffs
  • Cut off the sleeves of the second shirt
  • Sew the extra sleeve length to the main shirt
  • Sew the ends of the sleeves
  • Sew on some belts

if you real If you want to be lazy (and that’s ok) you can make the sleeves long enough to just tie them in a knot instead of lacing them. Also, if it has a button or zipper, just turn it inside out and fasten it from the back.

The advantage is that it is less work and more suitable for beginners or people who don’t want to do a lot of sewing. The disadvantage is that it doesn’t look very nice and (depending on the shirt you buy) it is not very secure against twisting bodies (especially if the sewing work is not that fine).

Jacket from scratch

There aren’t a lot of tights patterns out there. But what you really need is a long sleeve shirt pattern. Here’s a simple pattern…

If you’ve never used patterns before…

  • Draw the shape you want on the material in pencil (on the side that will be hidden), sizing it appropriately, making sure to leave about ½ to 1 inch extra room for sewing the seam.
  • Cut out the pieces and fasten them together
  • Perform a test fit and make adjustments (watch out for the pins!)
  • Sewing the pieces together
  • Sew the shoulder straps into place

“Pull” straps are OK – single hook straps are stronger – double hook straps are strongest

(Depends on what kind of drama you want to watch)

The advantage is that the final product will be much better and you can make any changes or additions you want. The disadvantage is that you need to have at least a basic understanding of sewing.

Side note: I have yet to find a true tight jacket pattern that isn’t protected by a “do not share” disclaimer – but the long sleeve shirt is the same principle.

Sewing Machine Tips

I’m assuming you’re using cotton canvas…

  • use Cotton, polyester or cotton-covered polyester Thread (Heavy Duty)
  • Use lLess pressure on the feet (The feet are what hold the fabric in place)
  • try Stitch length (Heavier fabrics are usually 3 to 3.5)
  • The spool tension will Depends on your material and machine
  • Sew slowly Backstitching is slower
  • Make one Secondary lines Close to the first line (to reinforce the seam)
  • If you don’t have confidence, Testing of scrap of the same material

If you don’t understand what I just said, This is a beginner video about sewing machines…
