First time dildo

First time using an actual dildo. I’m M28 and have been exploring my sexuality after coming out as pansexual and trying out more submissive things that I’ve enjoyed. I’ve had a butt plug for 2 months lowkey training when I can and enjoying it. So today I decided that maybe hey, I want to try a dildo. Went to the local sex shop and purchased the smallest one I could realistically take and also somewhat of a challenge. When I got home I was excited, cleaned the toy, myself, lubed the toy, myself, and toyed with myself a bit with my plug to help it easier entrance. Then finally using the actual dildo, and it wasn’t that exciting ? Like I didn’t hate it or love it, could be a first time use and just wanna ask for some tips or if it’s common ?
