New to sex toys and scared to use lube.

(f/21) So I am new to sex toys and have started experimenting with a few to see what I like. But I keep dealing with mild discomfort when ever using any kind of toy either internally or externally. I know I should prob use lube but The idea of it kind of scares me?

Have major anxiety around getting any form of infection, and Don’t like the idea of lube just being all up in there. Does it drip out of you once your done or , does ur body break it down/absorb it?? Sorry If I sound dumb, again very new to all this

Since I here may also ask, any good lube recommendations that are high quality and I don’t need to worry as much about it being unsafe or irritating? Thanks
