St. Patrick’s Day 2022 is just around the corner, and you know what that means: it’s been two and a half years since Covid-19 hit the world, and thankfully, this time around, it looks like we can finally put it behind us (fingers crossed!) That means if you’re looking to get lucky this year, whether that’s showing off your sexy green outfit or seducing a real-life leprechaun, there are all sorts of possibilities to explore.
Whether you’re single or in a relationship, I’ve got 5 fabulous ways to get lucky this St. Patrick’s Day.
1. Use a cheesy hook
There’s nothing like a good old-fashioned flirt. You can use Tinder or go to a bar. It goes without saying that either way, you need to be safe. In 2022, that means packing condoms and face masks and, you know, listening to your gut. If you’re meeting someone via an app for the first time, always (!) meet them in public first to get a feel for it. If you’re scouting out the scene at a bar, make sure to bring a friend or wingman. If you see a human you like, say, “I can’t wait to say hi to You”, while raising your glass in salute and winking at them. Of course, if you think you can do better on the fly, may the luck of the Irish be with you.
2. Snuggle up and watch an Irish movie
Do it green popcorntake that heavy patchwork quilt your grandmother made for you, aSettle in for an evening of Irish cinema immersion with your sweetheart. Whether your film of choice is set in Ireland and/or actually filmed there, there are plenty of well-known (and many lesser-known) classics to choose from, like these 55+ Best Irish MoviesPersonally, I have a soft spot for Kirk Jones’ 1998 masterpiece, The awakening of Ned Devine. Oh, and make sure those bathroom breaks turn into kissing sessions too!
3. Make a traditional Irish stew
The way to your lover’s heart may simply be through his stomach, especially if he succumbed to the temptation of drinking a green beer too early in the day. Why not seduce him by preparing him a traditional irish stewcorned beef or potato soup? Then you could treat yourself to Irish-inspired desserts, like apple pie with sweet custard or biscuits with green frosting. Once your feast is ready, light some candles, pour some whiskey, put on some Irish/Celtic folk tunes in the background (or The Pogues), and settle in for a cozy night of snacking, cuddling, and finally warming up with your significant other under the covers. Want to go bigger? Host a dinner party for your closest friends (dress code: green), and save the heavy petting for when they’re gone (or notif you like that kind of thing).
4. Wear St. Patrick’s Day under your clothes
You heard me right. If you’re feeling like getting your hands dirty with your partner on this sunny day, consider welcoming them home wearing nothing but one of those super fun and sassy pairs of underwear that says “Kiss Me, I’m Irish.” You know, with a sparkly shamrock on the butt and an arrow on the front pointing to your pot of gold. These are rather nice, as are theseand that Baby T-shirt says it all if you’re far from Irish but feel the spirit anyway. If you’re not one for cute slogans and prefer to wear lingerie, this limited number of emerald definitely has something to recommend it. Take it a step further by leaving a trail of golden chocolate coins (found at most dollar stores) leading from the front door to where you hide with your new green sex toy.
5. Participate in a parade
Check your local community listings to see which St. Patrick’s Day parades you can attend with your sweetheart, friends, or family, as the case may be (safely wearing your shamrock-adorned face mask, of course, unless you’re drinking a beer). St. Patrick’s Day is a time for raucous fun and uninhibited joy—after all, there’s East For those of us living in colder climates, the arrival of spring is something to celebrate. From gigantic floats to papier-mâché leprechauns, St. Patrick’s Day parades typically resemble daytime street parties and can include some or all of the following: music, drinks, piping hot Irish food, games, and crafts. What better way to get some fresh air and a healthy dose of Irish cheer? You know, before heading home to make out with your significant other (or that beautiful violinist you’ve been hitting on).
Like any other day of the year, St. Patrick’s Day should be fully exploited for its sensual potential. But on March 17, it turns out that your propensity for acquiring lucky charms is much greater. So what are you waiting for? Grab something green and buy yours, baby.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all. <3
