Looking Back at 2025: Articles I’ve Written, New Favorites, and Highlights from the Maker of Wonderful Fantasy Toys.

Start with something rough because I don’t want it to get buried.

Between tariffs, the economy, and increasing regulations on markets and the internet, things don’t look good. A handful of stores have closed operations, suspended shipments to the European Union or the United States, or suffered major financial hits as economic factors scare away customers. Prices rise and purchases fall.

A shop I had been working with, Erotic Effect, was one of those manufacturers that went out of business. Some of their models are relocated to other stores, which are listed on their website. Sadly, Scott – the man behind The Porn Effect – passed away shortly after closing the store. He is very active in the communities of both collectors and makerspaces, and I chat with him a lot in those channels.

Not everyone has the opportunity to do their job the way Scott did. He got to break out fancy paints and experiment with interesting pours because there was no longer any need to keep them; he closed the shop in a very organized way; he saw the love people had for him and his work, and how much his creations would be missed (a sentiment echoed by many when the shop closed). I’m so grateful that he had this opportunity – and that he got the chance to make toys and share them with everyone – and grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know him.

Scott will be deeply missed.

I’m not going to lie: It’s been a rough year. Sometimes I just stop and cry. Things are hard and everything is piling up.

But people are still making beautiful and sexy art. Sex workers and artists continue to create pornographic works and resist bills that would require invasive age verification or restrict adults’ freedom online. Americans are calling their representatives to support our rights and fight bad internet bills. New sex toy manufacturers are opening their own stores, established manufacturers are adopting new models, and we’re seeing innovation, creativity, and community support. In some communities I’m in, people have so much love for trans people that it almost makes me cry OK reason.

We must do all we can to support each other, both in adult online spaces and beyond. We need to keep moving forward, keep sharing joy and human connection, make the world a brighter place, and remember those who are with us on our journey.

My most read post of 2025 was 9 Fantasy Masturbators and How They Work with T-dicks, published in mid-2024. I’m very happy with this because it means trans men on HRT (and others with similar anatomy) are finding the information they need to make informed decisions. I prefer full-size penetrables to minis, so it’s cool that this post took off.

The next most viewed articles are Transmasc Inspired Toys, Guide to Fantasy Sex Toys and Classic Cocks from Fantasy Shops.

The most read posts of 2025 were Black Friday articles. Not surprising considering it’s designed as a resource rather than a review.

The most viewed articles of 2025 are reviews of njoy Pure Wand, Gender X Body Kisses, and Kraken Monster Lab Heart Grinders.

The biggest dildo:
The Fantasy Grove Changeling is the thickest and probably heaviest dildo I’ve reviewed this year, measuring 3.1 inches in diameter (9.8 inches in circumference), and the thickest part I could control was 2.8 inches in diameter (9.8 inches in circumference).

The most beautiful toy:
Fantasy Grove Utun is filled with glitter and strings of color in a beautiful “Dances with Unicorns” colorway. I absolutely love the depth of translucent silicone and this product is so gorgeous that a camera can’t capture it.

Surprise favorite:
Xenocat Artifacts Kane provides a very positive introduction to the deep game. I got it to fantasize about a monster that was too big – not one that would fit in 10 inches deep.

Best Butt Toy:
The SquidlyCo Faepod is the toy that made me fall in love with butt plugs (and drove me to search for a knot that fit my butt). I’ve never been that into anal sex, but I’m still exploring what I like, and this one could provide great inspiration.

G-spot bangers:
Fantasy Grove Changeling hits my G-spot perfectly. When I first tried it, the expansion of TERLUS Magic Within immediately pressed against my G-spot. njoy Pure Wand made me squirt for the first time.

Most commonly used
Neotori Thorvald’s Prism Mini Pen is perfect for pumping my clitoris to make it bigger and feel good at the same time, and I’m used to using it for pumping during play.

The Xenocat Artifacts Kane has been my most used fantasy dildo this year. Love that big boy.

Biggest disappointment:
Gender

Knot and flare

As a fantasy toy reviewer, I really haven’t reviewed a lot of Knots or Flares lately, have I? I may have to change that in 2026.

Fantasy Grove Utun and Uncover Creations Werewolf II fit my needs perfectly, and they’re thick enough to keep me satisfied. None of these have made it into my regular rotation, but I will break them out from time to time.

Humans and humanoids

Human dildos tend to work well for me, so it’s no surprise that I’ve covered a few of them this year. In addition to reviewing two mainstream dual-density dildos, I’ve also covered Two Vampires and Two Hunters…there must be a fanfic like this out there somewhere.

Two of them are in my anal sex rotation—the Uberrime Nocturna is great for warming up, and the Vulpini Design Hunter is just what I like—while the Wandering Bard Astarion and SHAFT Flexskin Model N have asymmetrical curves that are perfect for my vaginal play.

Expansion

I’ve been through a series of pretty big bloats this year. The Magic Within TERLUS is my favorite of the set and one of my favorite toys, with its thick, full swell. The Erotic Effects Krothur (now made by Midnight Menagerie) is actually a giant plug, which is another great design for when I want a solid stretch.

Dragons, demons, goblins and furry animals

We have some physical toys in this section. Fantasy Grove Changeling is great for stretching and hammering the G-spot; Xenocat Artifacts Kane rates 10/10 for deep play and monster fantasy; Master4Fancy ÖLZIITEI and Kraken Monster Lab Love Hurts both have excellent peaks. I had a lot of fun writing the most researched and serious article of the year: Jack (Allop) from the Jungle Book.

plug

The Squidly Co. Faepod felt so good that it inspired me to look into other butt plugs and knots for anal sex. The Flicker V5 from Eros Foundry is a challenging and pleasurable vaginal play stretcher. Plugs aren’t usually my thing, but these are great.

atmosphere and mainstream

I finally reviewed the iconic njoy Pure Wand (and figured out how to squirt) as well as one of my favorite vibrations, the Satisfyer Pro 3+ (and made a chart of the air pulse/”clitoral suction” vibration opening sizes). These are all part of my regular rotation.

I was really excited to try the Gender

My collecting has slowed down quite a bit, but I still picked up a few toys this year as well as ones I’ll be reviewing. (I couldn’t resist adding #2025SiliconeWrapped.)

Some of them sit on my shelf, while others are already regulars in my toy bag. I look forward to reviewing some of these next year!

I posted a lot of personal toy reviews in 2025. I still have a lot of collections that I want to complete, so more pieces are on the way, but I also plan on writing some big group reviews again. Namely, tentacle dildos (because comparison posts can help determine what features make tentacles great) and retired toys (because I want to review them but don’t want to invest the same amount of time in each one as I would on the ones that are still available).
