10 Creative Ways to Write a Sex Toy Review – Girly Juice

I’ve been writing sex toy reviews for 13 and a half years (!!), and in that time, I’ve tried one a lot of With form and genre. These days, you’ll mostly see me writing in a specific template because it’s easiest to write, easiest to navigate, and performs well on Google… but if I had my drummer (and my link juice), I’d a lot of Write more creative comments instead! I’m sure I’ll do it again one day when the right toy comes along.

To hopefully help inspire other writers, here are 10 alternative formats for writing great sex toy reviews…

1. Erotic stories

It’s a classic for a reason! A lot of people are interested in sex toy reviews and you can always follow that if you feel comfortable doing so. For example, I’ll occasionally start a review with a gorgeous retelling of the first time I used a toy, or the first time I used it with a partner, etc. Some would say this will also make readers more likely to click on your affiliate links because hungry shoppers are eager shoppers…

2. Diary entries

As a lifelong diarist, I love this approach. One of my favorite examples is Girl on the Net’s review of the We-Vibe Nova, where the vibrator became the starting point for talking about her recent painful breakup. Sex toys are more than just mechanical objects, they can trigger old memories and stir up emotions, from elation to loneliness to resentment to anger. There is no use keeping the tone of a toy review calm and peaceful if this is not your experience with the toy!

3. Cultural comments

Another favorite of mine…trends in the sex toy industry are often based on larger socio-cultural trends, and it’s fun to point out and comment on them. For example: Why are realistic dildos considered more threatening than non-representational ones? What impact does the sometimes racist marketing of batters have on the past and present of racial politics? What effects do clitoral suction toys have on gender?

4.The comedy of errors

usually i don’t plan Writing this type of review, but sometimes the testing process goes so completely wrong that I have to… like a glass egg stuck in my vagina, or when I try to stick a shoe up my ass. Hey, no one said sex toy reviews couldn’t have plot, jokes, or the threat of imminent danger!

5.Love letters

Some sex toys really are that good. You could write a Shakespearean monologue, or an erotic letter, or a heart-wrenching romantic screed to your favorite person—whatever you pour out, so to speak.

6. Operation method

This works best for particularly complex or unusual sex toys, which the reader may not have encountered before. How to set up Sybian? How do you apply vibrating nipple clamps to various kink scenarios? What are the best practices for using a rubber whip?

7. Laboratory report

I think this format works well for toys that make a specific, falsifiable claim, such as “It always brings you to orgasm in 60 seconds or less.” Test the hypothesis, quantify your results, and publish your findings! (See Danielle Bezalel’s magic wand experiment for a good example.)

8. Fashion items

I’ve done it before, and I’m sure I’ll do it again. Some sex toys look so cute that they’re worth matching with your outfit. This format is particularly suitable for wearable items such as restraints.

9. Episodes from novels

I used to sometimes write about what toys I thought I’d find in the nightstand drawer of a particular fictional character that I liked, like Chuck Bass from “Chuck Bass.” gossip Girl or rosa diaz from brooklyn nine-nine. Likewise, you could write some stories about different fictional characters trying this toy and whatnot their The experience may be this. This is a fun way to showcase different aspects of a toy’s functionality.

10. Interview

No, I’m not suggesting you interview about sex toys…although you can certainly try! What I actually mean is this: You use a toy with a partner (or partners) and then interview them about the experience. Sometimes people who aren’t involved in the sex toy industry at all can have surprisingly insightful insights into a product’s shortcomings and benefits – what better testimony than “I reluctantly agreed to test this on my partner, and then it got me harder than I expected”? !
