Wife asks for divorce settlement, husband says he is “too fat” and is granted divorce

Taichung, Taiwan.

She redefined “transactional relationship”.

A man in Taiwan has filed for divorce from his wife after she asked him to pay for sex because she was overweight and poor in bed.

According to the South China Morning Post, the unlikely incel, surnamed Hao, married his wife Xuan in 2014 and had two children. However, three years later, problems began to arise when his soulmate limited sex to once a month.

Two years later, in 2019, Xuan refused to have sex with him at all and allegedly told his relatives that he was “too fat” and “impotent.”

In 2021, the mistress, frustrated by her forced abstinence, filed for divorce, but withdrew the lawsuit after she promised to work on their relationship. Hao even registered their house under her name.

But soon after, Xuan returned to her old habits of withholding sex, reportedly charging him $15 every time he wanted sex or even to talk.

The sex tax ultimately proved to be a turning point: Hao Lei filed for divorce for a second time this year, and the judge granted it, arguing that their marriage had grown “cold and beyond repair.”

Prior to the second lawsuit, the man had not spoken to his wife in two years, communicating only through text messaging apps (presumably for free).

However, his fiancée was unwilling to break off the engagement and appealed to a higher court, but her appeal was ultimately rejected.

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time someone has implemented a pay-for-spouse policy on their spouse.

In 2014, a wife in Taiwan charged her truck driver husband NT$2,000 (US$60) for sex, meals and chatting, arguing that he did not contribute enough to the family.

According to New York divorce attorney James Sexton, there are two main reasons couples divorce: money issues and boudoir issues.

Sexton said a lack of sex often leads to infidelity, revealing in a recent podcast that “men want more sex, and women want higher quality sex.”

“It’s the same reason porn is more popular among men than women — because men just want to get the job done,” he said.
