Love in the Pews: The Ripple Effect of Emotion in the Church

In church we usually sit in the front. But yesterday we arrived before the ceremony started and the front was full so we ended up near the back.

As I looked at the people in front of me during the sermon, I noticed that many married couples were sitting very close to each other, either with one arm around the other or with one hand in their lap.

Expressing love for your spouse seems to be a cultural norm there. This is great and it encourages others to do the same. It may also push those who are less loving. Maybe it might even make someone think they should work on their marriage.

Public expressions of concern aren’t just for you and your wife. They have the ability to influence other couples in a good way.
