Enhance your mornings with Nintendo’s Alarmo Sound Clock

Nintendo alarm clock morning

In a surprising move, Nintendo announced its latest piece of hardware—no, not the Switch 2, but a sound clock called Alarmo. This is no ordinary alarm clock, but a full-blown gaming experience that happens before you even open your eyes. Rather than simply waking you up with a monotonous beep, Alarmo immerses you in your favorite Nintendo worlds and uses its motion sensors to respond to your body movements and play game sounds like Super Mario Odyssey coins in , the ink splatters in Splatoon or the rupees in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. With the Alarmo scanning area surrounding the bed, you can doze off with just a wave of your hand.

Wake up and immerse yourself in the world of Nintendo gaming

If you manage to get out of bed and out of bed on time, Alarmo will record your movements and you’ll be rewarded with the satisfying sound of trumpets that serve as the triumphant soundtrack to your game of choice. But beware: if you don’t get up within 20 minutes of the alarm starting, the music and sounds will gradually increase, subjecting you to a series of annoying sound effects and loud music until you finally surrender. Imagine wanting just five more minutes of sleep, only to be awakened by Bowser’s menacing laughter or the Guardian’s panic-inducing piano theme from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

In addition to gamifying your morning routine, Alarmo will also provide insights into the quality of your sleep. You can track your sleep activity using the Log feature, set hourly ringtones based on your favorite titles, and choose between alarm modes: Steady mode will increase intensity as you pause, Gentle mode will stay gentle consistency, while Button Mode offers the classic snooze button. Alternatively, you can play some soothing bedtime sounds to help you fall asleep.

Customize your wake-up routine with 35 different scenes from Super Mario Odyssey, Breath of the Wild, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure. By linking your Nintendo account, you can also unlock additional scenes in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons via free updates.
